Our Alumni - News from our Capsicum Culinary Studio past students:
- Giles Arthur Edwards, one of our very first students, left for London in 2006 and is currently working at Sheekey’s in London. He has also worked for 1 Lombard Street, a Michelin Star Restaurant in the heart of the city.
- Kascha Bekker and Pierre Cronje, were chosen to be part of a training programme at The Ritz Hotel, in Naples Florida. They were chosen from over 500 entrants. This is an exclusive programme and only allows for 50 members at a time.
- Pierre Cronje also won the GoldCrest Young Chef of the Year 2009 Competition. He will be working in the world-renowned Dorchester Hotel in London, under the tutelage of Bill Gallagher.
- Zaheera Musa and Elizabeth Nair have been awarded the City & Guilds Medal of Excellence for Patisserie. Zaheera has recently been awarded the contract to supply selected Checkers Shoprite stores in the Western Cape with her cakes, cupcakes, bakes and desserts.
- Mauricio Geral is currently working at a boutique hotel in Sandton called Athol Place.
- Ruvunya Rampersad is currently working at the Taj Hotel, a 5-star hotel in Cape Town.
- Lovemore Mandabva is working as a Chef de Partie at the exclusive and upmarket Steenberg Golf Estate.
- Craig Goldschmidt is working for Fedics in Cape Town.
- Cyril Sing is currently working in Australia but will soon be moving to Europe.
- Kevin Carlitz has been offered a partnership with the company where he did his industry training. Kevin will move to Cape Town to open this business.
- Jose Bester started his own company and is now recruiting students from Capsicum Culinary Studio to work for him at the World Cup.
- James Waite and Jonathan Snyman both graduate tonight. They did their Industry Placement at a hotel in Zanzibar. James Waite has been offered the Head Chef position at the hotel.
- Jan Smith passed with two distinctions and has started his own company in Gauteng.
