Cape Town Patisserie graduate, Kaylah Greenberg not only started her own business after completing her studies at Capsicum, but she has also been named as one of the House & Leisure Magazine’s Rising Stars of the Future! This is an annual competition that the publication runs to identify up-and-coming young stars to watch.
Kaylah’s business My Sugar opened its doors in May 2015 and is set in the heart of Seapoint. Patrons to her chocolate and coffee bar can expect an exciting array of sweet treats and Kaylah prides herself in her unique ability to put her own spin on classics. Expect things like thyme-and-honey-infused ganache in white chocolate, beautifully moulded chocolate skulls filled with caramel ganache and dusted in gold; and little pyramids filled with cashew nut butter ganache and toasted coconut. There are also salted pretzel caramel bars and fancy bars that are decorated and served for seated guests at My Sugar.
“I studied pastry at Capsicum Culinary Studio and did a short chocolate course to supplement my skills and that was me. Chocolate’s not the easiest thing, it’s very particular but it makes me work on my patience,” explains Kaylah.
Give My Sugar a visit when you’re in the area, you will thank us for it!
