When you’re passionate about something, it can be extremely fulfilling to indulge in it. Now imagine being able to spend hours studying for it, harnessing your craft, growing your skillset and earning a salary doing what you love. This dream could become your reality.
At Capsicum Culinary Studio, we’ve been turning passions into successful careers since 2003. We know what it takes to inspire individuals to follow their drive for cooking. We also firmly believe instead of just telling people what your dreams are, you should go out and follow them.
Passion into Practice
Being creative with food is not new.Gastronomy, for example has been around for centuries. However, the burning desire to make creative, appetising dishes is one that resonates with only a few people.
Capsicum Culinary Studio has been helping students develop their love of the culinary arts for years, offering them internationally accredited cooking courses, both full-time and part-time and now through a new and unique online cooking experience. This means that more students are granted access that can lead to a professional culinary qualification.
Studying at one of our six culinary schools across the country, you can become part of more than 4000 alumni working at top establishments. The skills learnt at Capsicum Culinary Studio can open the door to other exciting avenues that you may not have thought of, such as:
• Owning your own restaurant
• Becoming a private chef
• Cruise ship chef
• Food stylist for print or digital media
• Going into product development
• Culinary instructor at a chef school like ours
Capsicum graduates are now establishing themselves as leaders in various hospitality-inspired businesses. One such example is Ora Eliason from our Cape Town campus who is now employed by the well-known TV personality, Buddy Valastro aka The Cake Boss.
In fact, many successful chefs started their career with a City & Guilds qualification as a foundation. Jamie Oliver is a prime example of taking a dream and finding a way to turn it into a reality. Through his love for cooking, he has revolutionised the way that we view food. His passion involves educating people in nutrition, particularly at school levels, so that they make healthier choices when it comes to food.
What It Takes
Food is part of our everyday lives but not everyone can turn a selection of ingredients into a mouth-watering meal or pastry masterpiece.Chefs prepare food using a variety of cooking methods and knife skills. They can multi-task during their preparation at high speeds, not to mention delivering a visually creative dish which is delicious too. However, becoming a chef isn’t only about the experience gathered in the kitchen.Through education, you can unleash your potential and make a career out of something that you genuinely love doing.
What the Future Holds
Capsicum Culinary Studio’s students have followed their dreams by studying towards a formal chef qualification. We have no doubt that their passion and dedication determines their success.
Whether you have just finished school, or want to change your career completely, now is the time to start doing what you love.
