Meet Chef Julia Greenaway from the Durban Campus
We’re proud to have talented and committed lecturers on-board at all of our Campuses nationally. One such a talented lecturer from our Durban Campus is Chef Julia Greenaway.
Chef Julia brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise which she’s gathered over the more than 15 years in the Culinary and Hospitality Industry.
Chef Julia did her NVQ 1, 2 and 3 in Cookery in the United Kingdom and then went on to complete her City & Guilds Diploma in Food Preparation and Cooking as well as her City & Guilds Diploma in Patisserie through Capsicum Culinary Studio. In addition to this, Chef Julia has completed many short courses as well as Master Skills courses including a Sushi Course, Catering Course and various workshops in the United Kingdom. Chef Julia also established a popular business in July 2009 called Vanilla Chantilly, which sells wedding cakes and cupcakes and her business has already been featured on various television shows including Top Billing.
Chef Julia has worked at some prestigious places over the years including Compass SA where she was the Food and Beverage Manager, Hotshot Catering as well as a Kitchen Designer and Executive Chef Consultant for Mise en Place.
Says Chef Julia: “I’m delighted to be teaching and working at the place where I’ve spent so much time over the years doing my Diplomas. It gives me great pleasure to be able to assist the students bring their works of art to life and inspire them to create wonderful dishes in the kitchen. I look forward to spending many more years here!”
