As part of our commitment to helping people in our communities and in accordance with our social responsibility programme, we invited a few Reach for a Dream children to spend some time with us at the Port Elizabeth Campus on 1 November 2013.
First on the agenda was to get them kitted out into their Chef hats and aprons. The children then made their own pizza’s from scratch, pizza dough included and decorated their own cupcakes for dessert.
Having the children with us was such a heart warming experience which was felt by staff as well as students. Each student was assigned a Reach for a Dream child and they helped the children where help was needed. We had quite a few children who were total characters and who gave our students a run for their money, telling them how pizza making should really be done.
Each Reach for a Dream child received a small package to take home with them which consisted of a bag of sweets, blow bubbles and home made play dough as well as their expertly done pizzas and cupcakes or at least their leftovers to show off to their families. There was tons of fun had by all and plenty of laughter around the kitchen. We will definitely have the Reach for a Dream children here with us again.
